Jacob Burkhardt, an aged and respected resident of Sandusky Twp., died at his home there Thursday, of general debility.  He had been ailing for some time and his death was not unexpected.  He will be buried at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Crestline and the services will be conducted by the Catholic minister of that place.

Jacob Burkhardt was born at Wurtem-Rhine, Germany, in 1820, and was 76 years of age.  He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Elizabeth Ruhe, of his native town, and came to this country in 1860, taking up his residence in Sandusky Twp., this county, where he has resided since that time.  His wife preceded him to the spirit land six years ago.

The deceased leaves four sons:  Louis and Maximilian, of this city;  Charles of Crestline;  and Jacob of Massillon and one daughter, Mrs. Emma Geckler of Zoar.
